For a car-park dent, lodging an insurance claim is usually the expensive choice. Comprehensive excesses are often $1,000 or more, well above what the dent costs to fix. PDR works on dents up to roughly 6cm where the paint is unbroken and the panel is accessible. That covers the majority of car park dings, shopping trolley hits, and light door knocks. PDR isn’t suitable for dents with cracked paint, deep creases on the roof, bonnet or boot, structural damage, or hail damage requiring panel replacement.
